Sony Continues Its March Back to the Smartphone Market – Xperia E

After parting from Ericsson, Sony decided to claim a decent chunk of the smartphone market and came up with a quite impressive range of handsets. After the moderate success of their top models Xperia TL and Xperia V, Sony decided to introduce to us an entry-level Android handset – Sony Xperia E which comes to expand the budget smartphones category. It is expected in the stores early next year.

Xperia E is as good looking as its predecesors, pretty similar to Xperia J, it weights 115,7 grams and is only 11 mm thick. The display has 3,5 inch (320×480) and we should expect nothing but high quality images as even the latest iPhone uses a Sony display.

In terms of specs Xperia E will be running Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 1 GHz single core processor, 512 MB RAM and 4GB of internal memory, but only 2.2GB available to use (expandable via microSD up to 32GB).

The only existing camera has 3,02Mp, auto focus, digital zoom and can shoot pictures at a 2048 x 1536 pixel resolution.

With regards to the included software, Xperia E will get FM radio and Sony’s Walkman application with xLOUD audio technology and access to Music Unlimited from Sony. Of course it will have DLNA connectivity allowing users to share multimedia with TVs, tablets, and other devices.

One other cool feature is the HD voice. If your network supports it you could enjoy clearer calls when talking to someone else with a HD voice-enabled device. Powered by a 1500mAh battery the handset is supposed to offer more than 6 hours of talk time and 530 hours of standby time.  In order to save power the will disconnect  from Wi-Fi and data traffic.

Well that’s just official data so until we can get our hands on it will sit tight and wait for it to come out to play wearing a price tag.
